Back in Music City
We made it back to Nashville, safely, after 30 some hours in a Ford Explosion. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone in New York and D.C. and hope to get back east soon!

Hustler review (Vanderbilt)
Here's a review of 9000° by Michael Young in Vandy's Hustler newspaper. Online, it's InsideVandy.com, and the review is here.
"9000°," the first real album from V C Strut Band, feels fresh beyond belief. Part of that freshness comes from
9000 Degrees Review - by Ron Wynn
This is in the May 17th, 2007 Nashville City Paper. The review:
Large bands aren’t exactly household items these days, but Nashville’s longtime funk ensemble the V.C. Strut Band maintains its devotion to ‘70s grooves, while also adding contemporary hip-hop influences.
And the Winner Is...
Wow! We had the chance to play at a Battle of the Bands at Vanderbilt last night. After some difficulty with scheduling, some good groups and some not-so-good ones, we came out on Top. We really just wanted to play in front of more Vandy kids, and going in to it thought a more Vandy-based outfit with the built-in fans would reign.
We're honored. And we are honored to be opening Saturday's Rites of Spring event. You heard it here first, We are opening for The Roots. Catch us at 3:30pm, and The Roots will take the stage at 11:45pm.
Firecracker! - 8 off 8th
Wowsa! If you didn't make it to Mercy Lounge last night, you missed a great show: non-stop funk all night. Thanks to Whitness of Positive Spin and D-Funk
If you were there, thanks! It's always more fun when the crowd in receptive (and when there is a real crowd).
Be on the look out for more of these bands playing together in the coming year:
The Dynamites | Jackie Wilson
SkyHi | Secret Gossip | Shawna P
The Zone | Flung Shui
Make Me Wanna Dance!
At the Kappa Sigma party (Vanderbilt). The guy on the left is one of our biggest fans.
Tracking Live
Previously, I wrote that the recording was done. Well it is, mostly. We are hitting the studio 1 more time this Saturday to record a live track or two.

The recording is done!
Ricky, John and I finished the gang vocals about a week and a half a go. Now Shawn is spending some quality time with Jerry working on the mix. When the preliminary work is done, John and I will go in to fine-tune the horn blend.
